Gluttonous Loyalties

10/7/2014

A thresh of woe mutes the heavy fall
of boots advancing through the hall
in which your loyalties preside
over fallacies both far and wide.

You fail to accost the encroaching arms
of kingdoms come to do you harm;
arrogant in your resolve,
you vow a will to remain uninvolved.

But like a sword for decoration,
or an execution for pure elation,
against whom would your loyalties lay grace
without antagonist in place?

So thus the enemy grows near to heart,
and because you've neglected to do your part
your charges dine their final meal
unaware that inaction has sealed the deal.
