Neglect

Sometimes in moments of passion
We neglect what started all this rappin'
How dare I ignore you, poetry old friend
Please accept this, as my means to make amends.

You are so dear, an art that removes fear in my mental sphere
The liberation found in making words expound makes me laugh with joy
Far from a toy, you have a life of your own
I simply exist to let it be shown.

Bringing your voice to light
Is the singsong wisdom of the night
My mind slowly distracts
But please know, I will be back.
