No One Knows

Round and round we go
The wheel of fortune
Is everywhere
They all want new cars
New houses New New New
When things take priority
And continue to be the top
All things can fall
Just see it drop
We all know what it is
That makes us feel that way
It's having to be the one
Who feels that it's the only way
Then she gets sick and
cannot pay the bills
But the partner is busy
Working the slots and
Going to win the big one
Slowly she moves
Not wanting to look at
All the beautiful things
The pool is green and dirty
The wall to wall TV has nothing
The car that was the first made
She cannot drive
The everything is lost
By trying one more time
Laying in bed at the hospital
Is all that's left
House is gone and the car
Well was a victim of theft
Round and round we go

Really raw poem Fawn, I hear your plight. The wheel of fortune can be cruel. If only we had a way of spinning it with more gusto. Taking more control back over where it lands - or ceasing to spin at all.
